Human Trafficking Awareness Month is here! HTAM is a month to build and share awareness to help end human trafficking. You can make a difference by donating to the Searchlight Foundation or any other organization that works to rescue trafficked persons, especially children. Attend any of the free trainings that are given across the country, share information with others, or just increase your own awareness and willingness to take a role and report suspicious activity. It is virtually guaranteed that trafficking is going on in your own community, no matter where you live. Events like the Super Bowl, CFP championship game and others are prime targets for traffickers and trafficking victims. Be aware and share – make a difference.

Amidst the chaos of millions evacuating their cities and towns, fleeing to safety on the western borders, the specter of those human trafficking has reared its ugly head. Already thousands of children and young women have been taken and forced into sex slavery, using the porous borders as a conduit into the global market.

A Florida woman has been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison in the US for her role in using Eastern European children as young as six as part of a supposed-child modeling agency to sell sexually explicit material on her company’s website. They created over 4.6 million images and videos exposing these children while laundering $9.4 million of the money it made.
